PURPUR is an alternative fashion label, located in Melbourne, VIC, Australia, run by Russian fashion designer Kate Musina.
Kate started PURPUR in Moscow in the 2003 as a simple custom tailoring studio for goths. Then she began her experiments with cotton, leather and vinyl inspired by retro, old fashioned military and pin up stylistics. Her perfect taste and excellent sense of style completed with provocative sexual images of her garments quickly made PURPUR atelier very popular among those who wish to look extraordinary - actors, musicians, goths, fetish models and many others. All of them spread the word about Kate and soon she became one of the well-known Russian alternative fashion creators.
PURPUR atelier collaborates with Russian alternative musicians and underground non-commercial filmmakers. Several times Kate appeared on local and national TV as a "popular fetish designer".
Kate relocated to Melbourne in 2009 and now is working here. PURPUR is her registered trading name and legally she is an Australian business entity for taxation purposes (ABN 39576739624). All her recent collections have been designed and manufactured in Australia.
